New Patients
As of January 1st, 2026, we have once again temporarily paused the addition of new prescription patients until further notice.
As time goes on, we’ll continue to check in with our bandwidth to ensure that our staff remains able to provide the safe, effective, and efficient pharmacy care we’re known for.
If you haven’t filled prescriptions at our pharmacy before (including individuals who’ve only been vaccinated by us), click the button below to add your name to our New Patient Waitlist. We’ll reach out to you via the contact method of your choice when we have the bandwidth to begin filling your prescriptions. Only individuals who’ve been instructed by a staff member to fill out our New Patient Intake Form should do so.
As before, the exception to this rule will be for those who are immediate family/household members of an existing prescription patient (e.g., children of a parent already filling their prescriptions at SPCD). Patients who haven’t filled prescriptions at our pharmacy within the last 2 years will be considered new patients and required o add their name to the waitlist.
Please note that we are NOT pausing the addition of new vaccination patients, and are more than happy to vaccinate newcomers who aren’t filling prescriptions with us.
Thank you for your understanding & support.
We know this change is frustrating, especially for those who are currently getting slow (or even unsafe) pharmacy care elsewhere. The dwindling number of locations where patients can access high quality local pharmacy care is a direct result of the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) abuse that has been decimating community pharmacies like us for decades. If you know of individuals who are unhappy with their current pharmacy care, please encourage them to add their name to our waitlist! We will take on members of the waitlist over time as we’re able.

A NOTE RE: STIMULANT MEDICATIONS
At this time, we are unable to fill prescriptions for stimulant medications for incoming patients. Due to an ongoing shortage of this drug class, we're not even able to fulfill the need of our existing patients. However, we'd be happy to fill other medications for you! We apologize for the inconvenience.
The pages linked below are designed to help you better understand our process for receiving and filling new prescriptions and handling refills so that we can both work together to get your prescriptions filled as smoothly and quickly as possible.
We strongly encourage all new patients to subscribe to our as-needed e-news bulletin the DOSE for important news and critical announcements regarding our processes and policies, as well as changes to our services (such as when an additional COVID booster is approved).

Unfortunately, this has become an ongoing trend as we’ve had to temporarily pause accepting new patients whenever our workload gets overwhelming. Click on our letter from January 2023 to read more about why we were forced to stop taking new patients for over a year (from November 2022 until February 2024) and what you can do to help support independent pharmacies like us.
